Communication and Parent Assistance
Given the size of our team, the only effective way of communicating information is through our website, facebook, and also via email. All pertinent information related to schedules, directions, and other information can be found on our website club.wcvwrestling.com. Please familiarize yourself with the website when you get a chance. You are always welcome to approach, call, or email our board members with any questions or concerns that you have.
WCV Wrestling Club may schedule dual tournaments with other club teams, but it is up to the parents to take their wrestlers to weekend tournaments. It is highly recommended that parents communicate and go to tournaments together. This would give wrestlers without a ride a chance to wrestle at tournaments.
Clothing and Equipment
Each wrestler is required to provide their own wrestling shoes and headgear. We have a number of used wrestling shoes that you are welcome to in the event you don’t want to make that investment yet. We will have these used shoes available during club sign up. You can find headgear and shoes at sporting goods stores (Dick’s Sporting Goods, Scheels, etc.) or you can purchase them online at various stores (see website for links). Please talk to a board member if you need help with the shoes or headgear. For practices, your wrestler should wear shorts or sweats and a short or long sleeve T-shirt that can be tucked into their pants. Please be sure that there are no zippers on the clothing. For scrimmages and tournaments your wrestler will wear a wrestling singlet which will be provided by the program.
